It's 7-Day Roguelike Challenge week! :)
Some character concepts for our project
I'm... very much NOT experienced at pixel art, especially at this scale, but I'm trying my best haha.

Do you ever keep picking at your art even after it's "done"? I do it constantly, I swear my instincts for what looks "good" used to be sharper when I was younger...
I'm not going to reupload, but I'd like to share it anyway. I like this version so much better, all the yellow was a little too much.

So Ludum Dare 50 (game jam) was last weekend and I participated as an artist with two people from the Invisible Inc. modding community. ^^ The theme was Delay the inevitable, so we had to design and make a game in just 72 hours. I'm a biologist by profession, so the theme put me in mind of trying to preserve an endangered species - something doomed to fail in the grand scheme of things, but likely to fail sooner rather than later. Some people do sincerely believe that because all species are doomed to extinction, there is no point in trying to save any of them... I don't agree, but I can understand the stance.
You can find, play and rate the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/project-memory-delay-extinction
It's a turn-based strategy game with tactical elements, so it plays closer to something like Rebel Inc. than your typical Zoo Tycoon game.
And now, pictures! These assets are a little rough because of the time crunch, but honestly were very fun to do, and the time pressure is a great cure for perfectionism. I don't draw wildlife very often, but I feel like I should.

Have I ever mentioned I really really like the game Invisible Inc.? It was released in 2015 but Don't Starve Together got so popular that InvInc kinda got overshadowed. Regardless, I've been obsessed with it for several years now and can't seem to stop drawing the agents...

I was really prolific in drawing and painting (did it basically daily) in high school but then dropped off when I started uni and my skill has stagnated and so has my ability to just sit down and chip away at it until it's done., haha. ^^; As a result, here are some of the WIPs I've had sitting around for several YEARS, in some cases. I'll get to it though...
