So Ludum Dare 50 (game jam) was last weekend and I participated as an artist with two people from the Invisible Inc. modding community. ^^ The theme was Delay the inevitable, so we had to design and make a game in just 72 hours. I'm a biologist by profession, so the theme put me in mind of trying to preserve an endangered species - something doomed to fail in the grand scheme of things, but likely to fail sooner rather than later. Some people do sincerely believe that because all species are doomed to extinction, there is no point in trying to save any of them... I don't agree, but I can understand the stance.
You can find, play and rate the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/project-memory-delay-extinction
It's a turn-based strategy game with tactical elements, so it plays closer to something like Rebel Inc. than your typical Zoo Tycoon game.
And now, pictures! These assets are a little rough because of the time crunch, but honestly were very fun to do, and the time pressure is a great cure for perfectionism. I don't draw wildlife very often, but I feel like I should.
